The Sawmill River Valley War is based upon the actual experiences of 11 men in the Westchester County Militia. The author has brought to life the traumatic period from 1775 to 1783 in what was called the ‘Neutral Ground’ (between British lines in New York City and the American lines at Peekskill and Fishkill, NY). It makes clear the strategic role Westchester County Militias played in George Washington’s plans for the containment of British troops in New York City for the duration of the war.
The program is co-sponsored by the Hudson River Patriots DAR and the Historical Society.
Open to the public.
